Leipzig Halle Airport is located in Western Saxony in Germany and serves both Leipzig and Halle
Saxony.
Airport receives more than two million passengers per year, which is the second largest airport in the
state of Baden-Württemberg after Stuttgart Airport and Leipzig Halle is classified within the strangest airports in the world due to the modern design of the airstrip, which extends above the highway and parallel to the railroad nearby.
The airport has been updated when trying to Germany to get the approval of FIFA to host the 2012 Olympic Games in Leipzig display but lost to London.
